Odds have been slashed this morning on Bayern Munich central midfielder Thiago, joining Liverpool this summer, with British bookies quick to cut the price, after a £30m move was rumored to have been agreed.

The Spanish international has apparently said that after seven successful years in Germany he is looking for a new challenge and has rejected a contract extension, in a reported attempt to angle a move to Liverpool.

It has also been reported this morning that personal terms are in fact in advanced talks between Liverpool and Thiago and only monetary terms between the two clubs are left to be agreed.

This has resulted in an extreme shortening of odds on Thiago moving to Merseyside this morning, cutting as short as -175 in comparison to that of +210 yesterday.

Man City are second-favourite to make the signing being offered at a best price of +900, then a return to his boyhood club Barcelona next in the running available at +1100.

Liverpool being able to bring Thiago into their midfield arsenal would definitely add another aspect of depth to their squad which has been one of their only critiques in comparison to league rivals Manchester City.

Furthermore, being able to acquire the seven-time Bundesliga champion for as low a price as being reported would be hugely beneficial for Klopp’s men, adding huge experience for the upcoming season where they will be looking to retain their Premier League title.
