Following Liverpool's humbling loss to Premier League strugglers Burnley, and on the back of a scoreless draw with Manchester United, the odds of Liverpool retaining their Premier Leaue title have slumped to +850.
Jurgen Klopp appears to be under pressure for the first time in his career. He's been very unfortunate with injuries, particuarly that of Virgil van Dijk damaging Liverpool's challenge for the title. That said, we've seen Liverpool's famous front three of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Robert Firmino fail to score in their last four league games.
Man City are favorites with with their odds as short as -250 with some books, but currently available for a best price of -114. It has recently been revealed that star man Kevin De Bruyne is out with a hamstring injury. Even with that injury they are strongly favored by the books who fully expect Pep Guardiola to be lifting another Premier League trophy in May.
Across Manchester there appears to be hope growing that United could win their first Premier League trophy since the end of the Sir Alex Ferguson era. A great winning goal but Paul Pogba, who has been in great form across the past 6 weeks, pushed United to the top of the Premier League table on Wednesday night.
The Red Devils are available at +700 to win the title and are in the driving seat currently, although Man City can overtake them if they win their game in hand.
Elsewhere some would say that Tottenham and Leicester are in the running for the title, but the bookies disagree with the teams priced at +2900 and +3300 respectively. Another humbling performance by Chelsea has seen their odds slump to +12500, with manager Frank Lampard under intense speculation that his job is on the line.
