Premier League Odds: 22% Of Bets Now On Brighton To Be Relegated

It's been a bad couple of weeks for Brighton. The Premier League team had been playing well, beating current champions Liverpool on their way up the table. Over the past week they've lost 1-0 to an injury-time winner against archrivals Crystal Palace, then this past weekend they lost 1-0 to West Brom.

Losing two games isn't normally the end of the world but when those two games are against two relegation rivals then it becomes a serious concern. In their next 6 games they face Leicester, Everton, Man Utd and Chelsea, all doing well in the league, and fellow strugglers Newcastle as well as Southampton.

That's a tough run of fixtures and that game against Newcastle on March 20 could become a crunch game. With the recent results and the upcoming schedule it's no surprise that bettors are putting their money on Brighton to get relegated. 

Over the past 24 hours we've seen 22% of all bets on the market being on the Seagulls to get relegated, not only that but 71% of the handle is backing Brighton for the drop. With large sums of cash being placed on Brighton at +800 it's clear that some sharp bettors see value.

Brighton sit in 16th but now they're only 3 points clear of the relegation zone, with Fulham marching toward safety after a number of great results. Even West Brom, currently 19th, are only 9 points from safety and Sam Allardyce believes that his team can do it.
