EURO 2020 Odds: France And England Are Favorites

EURO 2020 is finally upon us after a delay of one year down to health concerns. That extra year to wait has only helped to whet the appetite ahead of a summer of great soccer.

The tournament begins on Friday with Turkey playing Italy and we know you'll be hooked. The sportsbooks are confident that the tournament will be won by one of the traditional European powers.

France are the bookmakers favorites, they've got odds of +500 and over the past 3 months they've been the most backed team with OddsChecker users. They have Champions League winners like N'Golo Kante in their midfield, won the 2018 World Cup in Russa, so have plenty of experience, and they've just welcomed back Karim Benzema to the team.

Second favorites are England, who without doubt have the best set of young players in the world currently. England have been producing talented and skillful young players over the past few years and it feels like this team could have plenty of success going forward. Without star defender Harry Maguire, who looks set to miss at least some games, then it could be harder. At +550 they're second favorites comfortably ahead of Belgium, +750, who have a aging team, and may see this as their final chance for a trophy with that generation of players.

Elsewhere Portugal are considered a dark horse, with bettors and bookies alike thinking that Ronaldo and his team of talented young players including Joao Felix and Ruben Dias, could be a danger.

Beyond that some of Europe's traditional powerhouses like Germany and Spain are still available at short odds although it feels like they're likely in a rebuild phase. According to the bookies it is Denmark who are most likely to challenge the traditional big teams, and bookies agree with the Danes being the sixth most backed team over the past 3 months.

EURO 2020 Odds: Shock As Italy Are Backed To Be Surprise Package

Roberto Mancini has totally changed this Italy team who he's moulded into his image. They've taken onboard his style and flair and looked very impressive in qualifying. They offer an interesting mix of young talent like Juventus' Chiesa alongside experienced defenders like Chiellini and Bonucci.

Over the past 24 hours, as the tournament has got closer, they're the most backed team to win EURO 2020, with 27.28% of bets over the past 24 hours being on Italy.
