Both Morocco and Portugal have played well throughout the Group Stage and Round of 16 to advance to the 2022 World Cup Quarterfinals. While things might be looking weird for both sides, Portugal comes in as the favorite to win the game.

Despite coming in as a somewhat heavy favorite, Portugal has some issues on their side. Portugal came away with a 6-1 win in the Round of 16 against Switzerland, but that was the last thing on the teams' minds.

Portugal decided to bench Cristiano Ronaldo in a surprise decision. Will that come back to hurt them against Morocco? Let's break it down.

Below, we will break down the Morocco vs. Portugal odds for the World Cup Quarterfinals. The sportsbook with the best odds is DraftKings Sportsbook.

Morocco vs. Portugal Odds and Betting Data

Despite Portugal coming in as the heavy favorite, the Morocco vs. Portugal public betting data doesn't necessarily back that up. Bettors are backing Portugal at just a 55% rate, which is interesting.

While Portugal comes in as the favorite, their odds are just -145. There's a bit of juice to be played there, but -145 isn't something that bettors will shy away from. Perhaps public bettors are intrigued by Morocco's odds to win at +475.

Here is where the sportsbooks and betting public are split.

Although this isn't something that is uncommon, it's surprising to see Morocco getting nearly half of the bets placed on them. Portugal is clearly the better team here and should be able to come away with a win.

Morocco vs. Portugal Prediction

My World Cup pick and predictions are going to back Portugal. I would love to play the juice here with Morocco and I don't think it's a bad idea to do so. Think about it, if they got this far, why can't they win one more game?

I don't think they're going to win this game and because of that, I'm going to hop on Portugal. At -145 odds, it seems too good to pass up. There are things we need to be hesitant about with Portugal deciding to sit Ronaldo. However, I don't think it will get to the team too much and I expect them to reach the 2022 World Cup semifinals.

Morocco vs. Portugal Projected Lineups

Morocco projected lineup: Bono, Hakimi, Saiss, Aguerd, Mazraoui, Ounahi, Amrabat, Sahiri, Ziyech, En-Nesyri, Boufal

Portugal projected lineup: Costa, Dalot, Pepe, Dias, Cancelo, B. Silva, Neves, Carvalho, Fernandes; Felix, Ramos

Morocco World Cup Odds

Despite being one of the final eight teams, Morocco has the seventh worst odds to win the 2022 World Cup. With +3500 World Cup odds, sportsbooks aren't expecting Morocco to win the World Cup this year.

A win here should surge their odds, but they still wouldn't be great given the difficulty in their next match.

Portugal World Cup Odds

Portugal's odds to win the World Cup sit at +600. Sportsbooks have them with the fourth-best odds to win the World Cup. A win against Morocco might move them up slightly, but personally, I don't think it will change their odds too much.

Sportsbooks already think that they will defeat Morocco, so don't expect to get a number much better.
