Royal Rumble Odds: Fresh Off Loss, Bettors Backing McGregor to Win Royal Rumble
It’s still fresh in all our minds. The scene of Conor McGregor on his back, like a deer in headlights after Dustin Poirier unloaded on him in the second round of the UFC 257 main event. In the end, it was Poirier with his hand held high in the middle of the ring and McGregor hobbling out of the area with help from a crutch.
Still, despite the fact that McGregor was badly hobbled in his UFC return, bettors are rushing to the window to back the former UFC champion to pull off a shocking win in the WWE’s Royal Rumble on January 31.
It doesn’t seem likely that McGregor could rebound from the beating he took just a few days ago. But, that hasn’t stopped his rabid fan base from showing their support. McGregor, whose odds currently sit at +10000, is the seventh most backed option to win the Royal Rumble in the past week, with 3.5% of all bettors backing him.

Who Will Win the Royal Rumble?
As far as who will actually win the event, Daniel Bryan is still the overwhelming favorite at +125. Bryan has never won the Royal Rumble, but that hasn’t stopped UK bookmakers and bettors from backing him.
With 23% of all bettors backing Bryan at +125 in the past week, he is almost twice as popular as the second choice, Shinsuke Nakamura, who has 12.5% of bets on him in that same time frame. Nakamura is +1200 to be the last man standing, odds that imply a 7.7% chance he wins. Just a week ago, Nakamura's odds sat at +5000.
The rest of the field mostly features your usual cast of characters, with a few exceptions. Pat McAfee (+25000), Tyson Fury (+10000) and Cain Velasquez (+25000) have also been priced up by UK oddsmakers.
