Doctors, Nurses, First Responders And Health Workers Favorite For TIME's Person Of The Year Award
UK sportsbooks have slashed odds on doctors, nurses, first responders and health workers being named this year’s TIME Person of the Year.
Medical heroes’ response to the Coronavirus pandemic has seen their odds drastically cut, from 4/1 into 1/1.
That now makes them favorites in the market, with a number of medical-related selections also taking up the top places in the market.
Despite receiving negative press and criticism from President Trump in their handling of the outbreak, the World Health Organisation is the second-favourite in the market at 4/1.
Chinese whistleblower Li Wenliang is the third favourite in the market at 7/1, to be awarded a posthumous honor.
Dr Anthony Fauci is the same price as Wenliang at 7/1, alongside Centres for Disease Control and Prevention at 7/1.
Teachers and Educators are the next on the list at 10/1, with homeschooling becoming increasingly more popular across the globe.
Finally, despite his disinfectant musings, Donald Trump is 12/1 to be named TIME Person of the Year, putting him in the top 10 favourites.
The President won the award back in 2016 after being inaugurated but has slipped in the betting for this years' honor.
