Eurovision Odds: Swtizerland Favorites To Win Eurovision
Yesterday we witnessed one of the biggest moves in the Eurovision betting market to date, with Switzerland catapulting themselves into favortism. Swtizerland's Eurovision odds were sitting around 18/1 yesterday, which put them just behind Lithuania as 7th favorites in the betting.
However, Gjon's Tears dropped the song the country would be entering in this years competition, which caused the sportsbooks to quickly slash the odds available. In a matter of hours, Switzerland's Eurovision odds were cut from 18/1 to as shot as 4/1, which meant there chances of winning went from 5.3% to 20%.
Eurovision Odds & Betting: Bettors Rush To Back Switzerland
It wasn't just the sportsbooks who reacted quickly to Gjon's Tears song, online bettors were very quick to back the country winning this year's Eurovision. Since the song was uploaded to Youtube, 57% of all wagers placed on Eurovision had been on Switzerland winning.
Interestingly, in the same timeframe, the United Kingdom accounted for 8.3% of wagers placed on the market.
