Oscars Odds: Bettors And Bookies Think Soul Is A Lock For Best Animated Picture

Oddsmakers and bettors agree, Soul is a massive favorite at the Oscars. The Disney blockbuster is expected to take home Best Animated Feature at this years’ Oscars. The betting market doesn’t see the race as a particularly close one.

Oddsmakers give Soul -2500 odds, or an implied 96.2% chance to win the Oscar. Soul’s closest competitor is Wolfwalkers, which is given +800 odds, or an implied 11.1% chance to win the Oscar. Oddsmakers don’t see any sort of real competition for Soul.

Bettors aren’t any different. Over the last 7 days, 62.5% of bets have been placed on Soul. Meanwhile, Wolfwalkers, also second favorite for bettors, has only had 12.5% of bets placed on it. Those bets are certainly better than the odds being given out, but Soul is still the massive favorite to take home the Oscar.

The betting could be Soul versus the field and Soul would still be the unquestioned favorite. The betting market has Soul so far out in front of its competition that’s hard to imagine anything else winning Best Animated Feature at this point.

Even fellow Disney film Onward is looking up in awe, as they’ve been given +2500 odds, the third best on the market. If any movie other than Soul takes home the Oscar it would likely be the biggest shock of the night.
