Complete 2022 Royal Rumble Odds and Betting Preview: Will There Be Any Surprise Entrants?
The Royal Rumble is less than two weeks away. That means the first odds for the event have been released for the six matches currently on the card. The odds point to a potential end of WWE’s current brand split.
WWE Championship Match
Oddsmakers see Brock Lesnar retaining his title in a match between two former MMA fighters. Lesnar isn’t the biggest favorite at -200, or an implied 66.7% chance to win, but he’s the favorite nonetheless.
Bobby Lashley is given +150 odds, or a 40% chance to win the match, the best of any underdog in a non-Rumble match. That’s because the oddsmakers aren’t entirely sure how the WWE wants to handle this situation. It’s well known they wanted Lesnar v. Reigns, but COVID took that off the table. If WWE still wants that match are they going to put the brand split at risk?
Odds | Wrestler | Implied Chance |
---|---|---|
-200 | Brock Lesnar | 66.7% |
+150 | Bobby Lashley | 40% |
Universal Championship Match
This one is simple. Oddsmakers don’t see Seth Rollins as anything resembling a challenge to his former Shield partner. Roman Reigns is the face of the company and WWE isn’t about to coll off their hottest gimmick right before Wrestlemania.
As such, Reigns is given -275 odds or a 73.3% implied chance to win. Meanwhile, Rollins is given +200 odds or an implied 33.3%.
Odds | Wrestler | Implied Chance |
---|---|---|
-275 | Roman Reigns | 73.3% |
+200 | Seth Rollins | 33.3% |
Men’s Royal Rumble
Oddsmakers are locked in on the Beast Incarnate ahead of the Royal Rumble. The plan all along has been to revive the rivalry with Roman Reigns, and oddsmakers believe WWE is willing to throw away the brand split to make it happen.
Lesnar is the runaway favorite at +250, or an implied 28.6% chance to headline WrestleMania. Former WWE Champion Big E is the second favorite at +550, or an implied 15.4% chance to earn a shot to regain his title.
Only two other wrestlers are given better than +100 odds, and surprisingly it’s a former tag team. AJ Styles and Omos are both given +800 odds, or an implied 11.1% chance to pull off a shock victory.
As for surprise entrants? The Rock is given +1200 odds, or a 7.7% chance to win. Bray Wyatt is given +2500 odds, or a 3.8% chance to return to the company that released him less than 6 months ago. Olympic Gold Medalist Gable Stevenson is given +2500 odds to debut at and win the Royal Rumble. John Cena is given +2500 odds to win the Rumble and earn a shot to win his record-setting 17th World title. World Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury is given +3300 to earn a shot at becoming a multi-sport world champion.
Oddsmakers have even given odds to some wrestlers currently employed by different companies. After all, Impact Knockouts champion Mickie James will be competing in the Women’s Rumble. AEW’s CM Punk and Chris Jericho are given +10000 odds, or an implied 1% chance to win.
Odds | Wrestler | Implied Chance |

+1600 | Damian Priest | 5.9% |
Raw Women’s Championship Match
Becky Lynch is the biggest favorite of the night. The Man is given -1000 odds, or an implied 90.9% chance to win the match. Doudrop is given +550 odds, or an implied 15.4% chance to pull off the upset. Oddsmakers simply believe that this match is a holdover before Becky’s Wrestlemania story kicks off.

---|---|---|
-1000 | Becky Lynch | 90.9% |
+550 | Doudrop | 15.4% |
Women’s Royal Rumble
Unlike the Men’s rumble, oddsmakers have no idea where the Women’s rumble is going to go. Six women have odds better than +1000.
Leading the way are Alexa Bliss and Bianca Belair who are both given +400 odds, or an implied 20% chance to win. Bayley is given +450 odds to return at Royal Rumble and get the victory. Liv Morgan is given +500 odds to finally capitalize on her momentum. Charlotte Flair is given +700 odds. Lastly, Rhea Ripley is given +800 odds to get back into the Women’s title picture.
TNA Knockout’s champion Mickie James is given +3300 odds, or an implied 2.9% chance to win the Rumble. She’s not the only potential shock winner though. Oddsmakers give Paige +1000 odds to win the rumble in her first in-ring appearance since 2017.
