WWE set up their WrestleMania main event at the Royal Rumble. Brock Lesnar is going to take on Roman Reigns. The thought was that the match wouldn’t involve Raw’s WWE Championship after Reigns cost Lesnar the title. Well, oddsmakers are saying to wait a minute.
Lesnar is now the favorite to regain his title at Elimination Chamber. Lesnar is given EVEN odds, or an implied 50% chance to regain the title. His biggest competition is current champion Bobby Lashley who’s given +150 odds, or an implied 40% chance. Seth Rollins is also given strong odds at +250, or an implied 28.6% chance.
The rest of the competitors are just there. Oddsmakers give AJ Styles +600 odds, or an implied 14.3% chance. Riddle is given +700 odds, or an implied 12.5% chance. Austin Theory is given +2500 odds, or an implied 3.8% chance to shock the world.
Brock Lesnar was screwed out of his WWE Championship. A move that many believed was set up to keep the brands separated. Instead, it seems like WWE simply did it because they didn’t want a world champion to win the Royal Rumble for the first time in company history. Now, Lesnar seems set to recapture the gold and set up a title unification match that could end the company’s latest attempt at a brand split. Still, these are just opening odds and the lines will move before February 19th.
