Kristen Stewart has been nominated for an Academy Award for the first time in her career. Her portrayal of Princess Diana has captured the hearts of many viewers. We take a look at the latest odds for who will be named Best Actress at the 2022 Oscars.
Stewart is given +240 odds, or an implied 29.4% chance to take home the award. That puts here second on the market. A stark improvement on her +410 odds, or implied 19.6% chance she was given prior to official nominations. She’s also been a favorite of bettors since the nominations became official with 52% of bets being placed on her to win the award.
No, the favorite as it was before nominations became official, is Nicole Kidman. Her odds moved from +230 to +138 after the nomination. That’s an implied chance change from 30.3% to 42%. Bettors aren’t as enthused, as only 17% of bets have been placed on her.
Olivia Colman saw a massive slash to her odds, moving from +1000 to +500. A nice change from a 9.1% chance to a 16.7% chance. She’s also seen 21% of bets placed on her, second-best on the market. Meanwhile, Penelope Cruz also saw a nice cut going from +1600 to +1200, or from 5.9% to 7.7%. That said, only 3% of bets have been placed on her to win, the lowest mark on the market.
The only actress who was hurt by the nominations was Jessica Chastain. Yes, her odds were also slashed from +900 to +620, 10% to 13.9%. However, she fell from 4th, of the nominated actress, to 5th. That really shouldn’t come as much of a surprise considering only 7% of bets have been placed on her to take home the award.

All eyes may be on the 5 actresses nominated, but many on the betting markets are looking at the one who wasn’t. Lady Gaga was the second favorite to win this award prior to nominations at +250, or an implied 28.6% chance. Yet, she wasn’t able to secure a nomination. As a result, oddsmakers feel confident that Nicole Kidman will win the award, as is evidenced by her implied 42% chance.
