On Sunday, the 94th annual Academy Awards is set to get underway. It's one of the biggest nights in film, as they are celebrating the accomplishments of the industry over the past year. One of the more under-the-radar categories is Best Visual Effects.

Past winners include Interstellar, Gravity, Avatar, The Matrix, Titanic, and many other historic movies. Can Dune join this list in just a few days? Let's take a look at what the oddsmakers have to say about the Best Visual Effects odds:

It's easy to see why the public is slamming Dune. Oddsmakers have the film at -1600 or an implied chance of 94.07 percent chance of winning the award. The next best odds, implies just a 6.67 percent chance of being able to win.

Dune is a science fiction film directed by Denis Villeneuve set in the future. It's based on the 1965 novel written by Frank Herbert. A sequel, Dune: Part Two is expected to be released in October of 2023 covering the second half of the Frank Herbert novel.
