View From Across The Pond: Our co-workers at Oddschecker UK have revealed that the Serbian has recieved 84% of bets on the French Open market in the 24 hours following on from his crushing victory over Rafael Nadal in Australia.

As a result, the odds on Djokovic winning the French Open have been cut from +350 to as short as +180. Accruing a massive 84% of bets in the last 24 hours on that market, punters have rushed to put their money behind the 31-year-old making it four consecutive Grand Slams with a win in Paris.

Nadal had not dropped a set throughout the entire Australian Open before the final, but spectators at the Rod Laver Arena witnessed a demolition at the hands of the world number one.

Hitting 34 winners and conceding just nine unforced errors to Nadal’s 28, the straight sets victory was a spectacle. Djokovic secured his fifteenth Grand Slam title and immediately talk has turned to the next major in his sights.

There’s unfinished business for the Serb at Roland Garros. The only time he has won the French Open, back in 2016, Nadal had withdrawn from the tournament through injury.

The 11-time French Open champion remains the favourite for this year’s tournament, but has drifted slightly from -137 to -110.

Oddschecker's UK spokesperson George Elek: “When in this kind of form, it’s unwise to bet against Novak Djokovic in any tournament. Nadal might be the ‘King of clay’ but if Djokovic can reproduce anything like the kind of tennis we saw on the hard courts he will be unstoppable.

“Plenty thought the Australian Open would mark a turning point in world tennis, but it doesn’t look like the old guard are going anywhere.”
