TheScore Plans Public Listing On Nasdaq To Boost Sports Betting Platform

Score Media and Gaming filed on Monday with SEC to raise up to $183 million in an initial public offering, which is to help expand their betting products. theScore have already nailed the world of sports digital media, however, they have the likes of DraftKings and FanDuel to topple in the sports betting world, which is no easy task. The Canada-based company plans to offer 5 million shares at $36.52 to raise the $183 million. At the proposed price, Score Media and Gaming would command a market value of $1.8 billion.

theScore Bet currently operates in New Jersey, Colorado, Indiana and Iowa, but is looking to expand horizons in both the United States and Canada.

With the Canadian Parliament currently discussing the future of sports betting in the country, theScore sit in prime position to capitalize on any potential opportunity which opens up. theScore estimate the Canadian market potential of up to $5.4 billion in annual gross gaming revenue.

"We believe a U.S. listing would benefit our business and shareholders as we seek to further execute on the growing opportunity in the rapidly developing North American sports betting market,” John Levy, theScore’s chief executive officer said in a Feb. 11 news release.

So far, 24 U.S states have passed legislation to reform their sports betting laws, which means it’s only a matter of time before we theScore Bet operating in even more states.
