French Open Odds: Iga Swiatek The Betting Favorite

Following the withdrawal of World Number two Naomi Osaka, the French Open odds betting markets have had a shake-up. Looking at the French Open odds now you’ll see that Iga Swiatek has strengthened her position as the favorite just two days into the tournament.

The defending champion is as good as place as any to start at most of the Tennis slams, but more importantly at the French Open. As we’ve seen with Rafa Nadal’s record in the past few years, the clay surface can produce specialists and Poland will be hoping they have one of their own with Iga Swiatek who took home the title last year. The success in 2020 was her first Grand Slam win and now coming in to this week’s tournament as a career high of World Number 9 in the rankings, it’s clear to see why the sportsbooks have made Swiatek the new favorite to win the 2021 French Open.

Iga Swiatek’s French Open Odds

The best French Open odds you can find on Iga Swiatek now are +200 with William Hill Sportsbook. In traditional terms, that’s 2/1, meaning a $100 wager on Swiatek would return $300 if she were to come out on top at the 2021 French Open. As always, when betting on any sporting event it’s important to check the competition within the market as some sportsbooks are offering French Open odds of just +175. A $100 wager at the worst odds would only return $275.

What Were Naomi Osaka’s French Open Odds?

Before her withdrawal, the sportsbooks made Naomi Osaka a contender to win the 2021 French Open. This fact makes her withdrawal to many even more surprising. Pre-tournament, the French Open odds for Naomi Osaka were +1700. She’s arguably the #1 women’s tennis player going right now and has the most potential judged on her ability and age.  At the age of just 23, Osaka has already won 4 Grand Slam titles – it’s clear to see why she was the favorite in the French Open odds market.

French Open Odds: Full Market
