Presidential Odds: UK Oddsmakers Price Up Chances Trump's Twitter Gets Suspended
On Thursday, President Donald Trump signed an executive order aimed at checking the powers he says social media companies have over public and private communication in the US.
This move from the president came after Twitter decided to fact check some of his tweets for the first time ever and ended up labelling two of them as “potentially misleading.”
The tweets in question from the Trump were both regarding the possibility of fraud with mail-in ballots.
President Trump has long been at odds with social media companies like Facebook and Twitter, and it seems to be coming to a head right now.
Tensions between President Trump and Twitter are so high that some UK oddsmakers have priced up the odds that President Trump’s Twitter account is suspended sometime in the month of June.
The odds are set right now at 10/1 or +1000, the same odds the San Francisco 49ers have to win the Super Bowl this year, meaning those UK oddsmakers are giving it a 9.09% implied probability of happening.
9.09% is far from a sure thing, but there are surely some bettors willing to back it.
