2020 US Election Odds

Americans are already eagerly rushing to cast ballots ahead of the 2020 US election next month, and early indications show we could be in for a record turnout.

Donald Trump vs Joe Biden will be one of the most dividing US elections in recent years, and possibly ever, which will be one key contributor for the increase in votes. Another will be the involvement from celebrities and sports franchises around the country encouraging voters to make a difference and vote in the 2020 US election.

Reports released today suggest that more than 4 million Americans have already voted, which is 50 times the amount who had voted at this point in 2016. Michael McDonald of the University of Florida suggested current voting rates could lead to a record turnout of about 150 million, representing 65% of eligible voters, the highest rate since 1908. Online bookmakers in the UK are less confident than McDonald on the turnout, however, they do currently have over 60% as the betting favorite, which would be the highest since the 1968 US election.
