2024 US Presidential Election Odds: Donald Trump Heavily Backed As Odds Shift

The 2024 Presidential Election may be years away, but oddsmakers are still tracking the potential candidates. To nobody’s surprise, oddsmakers still see Kamala Harris as the favorite at +350, followed quickly by Joe Biden at +450. Donald Trump is still the favorite Republican to win the presidency at +650. However, oddsmakers have made some massive odds changes in the past month.

Ron DeSantis, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Dwayne Johnson See Presidential Odds Cut

Most notably, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Actor Dwayne Johnson have seen massive odds cuts. Governor DeSantis has seen his odds shaved from +2000 to +1100. He’s now the fourth favorite to win the presidency and the second favorite Republican.

Meanwhile, Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez has seen her odds slashed from +6600 to +1600. A massive odds swing for the leader of the Progressive Democrats. She’s not alone in her party though, as Dwayne Johnson has seen his odds slashed from +5000 to +2000.

What do Bettors think of the 2024 Presidential Election Odds?

Bettors have their own ideas though. Over the last 30 days, Republican candidates have been heavily backed. 36.8% of bets have been placed on Donald Trump to regain the Presidency making him the overwhelming bettors’ favorite. Ron DeSantis is the bettors’ second favorite with 16.8% of the bets. Kamala Harris sits at 10.8% and Joe Biden at 9.2%. Surging democrats Ocasio-Cortez and Johnson sit at 2.6% and 3.2% respectively.

On the Republican side it’s clear what’s driving the surge for Ron DeSantis. He’s beloved among Republican voters and has even surpassed Donald Trump in some major polls.

The Democratic side is a little more confusing. Dwayne Johnson and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez haven’t done much to suggest a rise in political profile in the last month. Yet, they’ve seen the largest odds slashes of anyone on the market. Something to keep an eye on moving forward.”
