So, with the Republicans expected to win the question becomes who will represent the party? Oddsmakers believe that former Under Secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs, David McCormick, is the heavy favorite. McCormick is given -140 odds, or an implied 58.3% chance to win the primary. Dr. Mehmet Oz is second with +165 odds, or an implied 37.7% chance to win. The gap to third is a large one with former nominee for Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania, Jeff Bartos, given +800 odds or an implied 11.1% chance.
Oddsmakers are expecting a red wave to come this November, so it’s no surprise to see them backing the Republicans in a hotly contested state like Pennsylvania. However, bettors are backing the Democrats. Over the last 30 days 66.7% of bets have been placed on the Democrats to win the election. It’s also worth mentioning that John Fetterman outpolls the current Republican favorites.
