Sportsbooks Name Tom Brady a Favorite to Win 2024 Republican Presidential Nomination

Tom Brady recently stepped away from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for personal reasons. Neither Brady nor the Bucs have commented on what has taken him away from the team, only that he should return before the end of camp. Sportsbooks seem to have an idea about what the absence could be about.

Seemingly overnight, Tom Brady has become a legitimate player on political odds markets. He’s now given odds as low as +4500 to win the Republican nomination in 2024. Those odds place Brady 6th on the odds market. His odds are better than the ones given to Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Larry Hogan, Susan Collins, Ted Cruz, and Mitt Romney.

This odds shift is more significant than the one even Donald Trump saw. Trump saw his odds shift from +10000 to +5300 after he officially announced he was running. Brady just saw his odds shift from +15000 to +4500, and he hasn’t announced anything.

Brady’s odds to win the Presidential election have also shifted dramatically. Going from +25000 to +10000 overnight. The idea of Brady running for President may seem wild now, but sportsbooks are clearly preparing for the possibility.

Tom Brady’s politics have been up for discussion for years. In 2004 he said his craziest ambition was to be a US Senator. However, he’s backed off of most of his political engagements after his relationship with Donald Trump became a national story. In 2015, Brady said he had no interest in running for office. Yet, in 2018 he made clear his endorsement for a Republican candidate in a 2018 state election in Massachusetts. Brady has once again said he wants to avoid a political career in 2022, but his actions speak louder than his word and sportsbooks see that.
