Bettors and sportsbooks have very different perceptions of what the Georgia Senate is going to look like. UK sportsbooks believe that it is Raphael Warnock’s race to lose. However, UK bettors feel pretty confident that Herschel Walker will come out on top.

Georgia Senate Odds: 69% of Bets Backing Herschel Walker to Win Georgia Senate Race

Bettors and sportsbooks have very different perceptions of what the Georgia Senate is going to look like. UK sportsbooks believe that while a tight race, it is Raphael Warnock’s race to lose. However, UK bettors feel pretty confident that Herschel Walker will come out on top.

Warnock is given -163 odds, or an implied 62% chance to retain his Senate seat. Those aren’t the best odds, but they’re strong for a toss-up seat. Meanwhile, Walker is given +138 odds, or an implied 42% chance to win the seat. Again, not strong odds, but he’s not out of the race.

With odds like that, one would expect that betting would slightly favor Warnock leading to the slight edge despite the public perception that the race is a toss-up. However, that’s not the case, as Walker is the runaway betting favorite. Over the last 30 days, 69% of bets have been placed on Walker to win the race, while only 31% have been placed on Warnock.

This is a pretty sharp turn, as Warnock had been the betting favorite for months. In June, Warnock had seen 67% of bets. In July that jumped up to 75% of bets. Then in August things began to take a turn and Warnock had only seen 56% of bets. This is the first 30-day period that Walker has been the favorite since April when he had garnered 70% of bets.

The UK is seeing that the American electorate is beginning to swing back to the right after some strong momentum to the left in the summer. With inflation once again taking the stage as the biggest issue instead of abortion, Republicans have seen their numbers soar in polls across the country. While Georgia seemed to be a relatively safe toss-up for Democrats, it’s still a very vulnerable seat with a nationally followed candidate running for the Republicans. It’s possible for things to flip back to Warnock again, but UK bettors see momentum turning and they’re running to back Walker as a result.
