Orioles vs. Blue Jays Line Movement

Baltimore Orioles vs. Toronto Blue Jays Prediction

Not only have the first two games of this series cashed the over, but so have all six times these teams have played this season. Let’s go back to the well and take another over in this AL East matchup.

Once again, Vegas has favored the Blue Jays, whose money line opened as high as -180 at some books. Following the loss last night, the Jays are currently sitting around -150. This season, the Orioles are 4-2 against the Blue Jays. Based on how the Orioles have been playing, Toronto bettors could be in for another upset tonight.

So far this month, the Orioles have proven themselves to be a viable opponent. In August, Baltimore has gone 7-1, scoring an average of 5.25 runs per game. Jose Berrios is making the start for Toronto tonight, and his home/away splits are not promising for Toronto. On the road, Berrios is 2-4 and has a 7.50 ERA in 54.0 IP. He has already faced the Orioles once this season in Toronto, and while he only surrendered three earned runs over seven innings, there’s still reason to expect a worse performance away from home.

August has not been kind to Toronto, as they are only 3-5 but still have managed to put up an average of 4.25 runs per game over this stretch. It’s hard to know what to expect with Baltimore’s unpredictable Dean Kremer. His 3.43 ERA is somewhat deceptive. He’s only made 11 starts this season but has shockingly not allowed a single run in five of these starts, a total of 29.3 IP. Although, his other six starts have resulted in opponents scoring 22 ER over 26.5 IP.

While Kremer has not faced the Blue Jays this season, his last three games of last season were against Toronto. In the first, he managed only two earned runs in seven innings. He proceeded to allow the Jays six earned runs in only 0.1 IP and five earned runs over four innings in the two games that followed. Kremer also has struggled against right-handed batters, as evidenced by his 0.308 BAA, so this Toronto lineup of all righties might be challenging.

Both teams are capable of winning this game tonight, but more importantly, both teams should be able to put up some runs. Bullpens should be worn down after last night’s matchup, lending additional opportunities to up the score. Consider another play on the over 9 at even money at Caesars Sportsbook.
