MLB Parlays - Thursday 04/04
Here are Today’s MLB Picks:
The Mets are enjoying another hot start to the season - they're 5-1 so far this year after starting the 2018 season 11-1 last year. They won the opening series against the Nats in Washington and start another set against them today, this time in New York. We have a rematch of Thor vs. Strasburg, as both these pitchers faced each other last week in what turned out to be an eventual 11-8 Mets win. They both allowed 4 ER over 6 IP as neither performed up to their usual standards. These are both top-shelf pitchers but I personally think Syndergaard has the edge as he's just on a whole other level, going 13-4 with a 3.03 ERA last season. The Mets' lineup has been performing better than the Nats, plus they're at home and Washington is without Trea Turner, a crucial member of the Nats offense.
0.5u - NY Mets ML @ -133
The Royals are coming off a couple frustrating losses against the Twins, both coming by just one run. A series with the Tigers should be just what they need to get past the frustration, as Detroit has managed just 12 runs in their first 7 games, which is an average of under 2 runs per game. Meanwhile, Kansas City has mashed 26 runs over their first 5 games as their offense has been far more productive. They'll go with Jakob Junis and he's absolutely feasted on the Tigers over the course of his career, as he's gone 6-1 against them in his career and last year went 4-0 with a 1.95 ERA over 5 starts. I don't trust Spencer Turnbull at all, the Tigers starter for today, and am loving the Royals at this price.
1u - KC Royals ML @ -108
The Indians' offense has been frustrating to watch so far, as they've scored just 13 runs over their first 5 games. With Lindor on the IL, there just isn't as much consistency behind the plate for this Cleveland team and it's showing. They'll face Aaron Sanchez who got the win in his season debut pitching 5 scoreless innings, and they'll start Trevor Bauer on the mound, a Cy Young contender last season who went 12-6 with a 2.21 ERA in 2018. Toronto hasn't exactly been electric at the plate either and it's really hard to score much against Bauer regardless of how your offense is doing - I like the under here.
0.5u - Under 7 Total Runs @ -124
The Cubs are 1-4, but they've still managed to score 32 runs over their first 5 games and the total has gone to at least 8 runs in each of their games so far. They'll start Yu Darvish on the mound after he allowed 3 ER in just 2.2 IP after returning from a May 2018 injury in what turned out to be the shortest start of his career. I definitely don't trust him on the mound and think a Braves team averaging 6.2 runs per game so far into the season will be able to score a few on him. Atlanta will be spot starting Max Fried since Folty and Soroka are both hurt. Fried is typically a reliever so I don't expect him to be stretched too much in this one and the Braves' bullpen will probably have to take over fairly early. Take the over.
0.5u - Over 8.5 Total Runs @ -129
