Our picks for today's MLB action

Monday’s are always a relatively quiet day in the MLB, after a jam-packed weekend. However, we still have nine games and plenty of value to pick from.

Here are Today’s MLB Picks:

Mets @ Yankees

The Subway Series is always fun, but the weather forecast means this one if threatening to get off to a damp start. However, if the game can be played there is a lot of value in the total. Jason Vargas has been super recently, allowing one or less earned run in six of his last seven starts. Masahiro Tanaka has had a couple of rough outings, allowing four earned in each of his last two starts. Yankees home games have routinely hit the under this year, with just 11-of-35 going over. In games with the line set at 10 or more the under has hit 3-of-4 times in Yankees Stadium. Given everything the line at 10 seems incredibly good value right now.

1u – Under 10.0 Total Runs @ -120

Rangers @ Red Sox

This game should be a lot of fun. Chris Sale is not having his best year, but he is still a very good pitcher, with an ERA of just 3.84. The Rangers offense can still do damage, but it is not as potent without Joey Gallo. Mike Minor has been superb this season, with a 2.55 ERA, and has allowed over two earned runs in just three of his last 10 starts. The Red Sox offense has had mixed success this season, so I like Minor to have another solid outing. Given the way the Red Sox have bounced up and down this year, I am expecting a big performance from them in this outing. However, at +229 there is value in the Rangers with the very impressive Mike Minor on the mound.

1u – Under 8.0 Total Runs @ -111

0.5u – TEX Rangers ML @ +229

Dodgers @ Angels

These cross-city games are a lot of fun, and this one should be no different. Hyun-Jin Ryu has been superb this season, allowing just two earned runs in the last six games, across 44 2/3 innings. For the large part he has been keeping people off the base paths, and his SIERA of 3.32 demonstrates that this performance is far more than just a run of luck. On the other side Griffin Canning has burst on the scene. The start was a little bit rocky but his last four starts have seen him allow just six earned runs with 23 strikeouts in 24 innings. These two offences are highly ranked, but these two pitchers should be able to keep them honest.

1u – Under 8.5 Total Runs @ +105
