MLB Picks & Parlays Thursday 06/27
Thursday is always a slightly strange day for the split of games. This time we have six games on the afternoon slate and four on the evening slate, with some interest matchups along the way.
Here are Today’s MLB Picks:
The Rangers will find it tough to finish this series with a third win as they come up against Spencer Turnbull, who has a 3.29 ERA on the season. He has struggled a little in his last two home starts, allowing nine earned runs in 10 innings. However, the weather is going to be on his side in this one, with the wind blowing softly in from right field. Ariel Jurado is pitching for the Rangers, and he is also coming off a couple of rough outings. However, prior to those he had been very good, and this is the perfect offense and perfect ballpark to bounce back in.
1u – Under 9.5 Total Runs @ -110
Games in Colorado are always fascinating, but this matchup feels like a massive mismatch. Walker Buehler has surprisingly good career numbers in Colorado, with a 3.81 ERA in four starts and two relief appearances. In contrast Peter Lambert gave up eight earned runs last time out in Colorado and gave up three earned in five innings last time out in Los Angeles. Buehler, on the other hand has allowed just nine earned runs in his last six starts combined, and just three in the last four. I am not expecting dominating strikeout performances like we have seen recently from Buehler, but he should have enough to win well against Lambert.
1u – LA Dodgers -2 @ -105
The final game of the day is a fascinating matchup between two young pitchers. Griffin Canning (3.88 ERA) did have some struggles with the Athletics last time out, but he also struck out eight in six innings. He also impressed when he faced them in Oakland, and I think he can have a solid outing once again this time. Tanner Anderson is an interesting case, but he has been solid so far, allowing a total of seven earned runs in 15 innings. The Harvard graduate will be looking to nail down a place in this rotation, against an Angels team who have seen the under hit in four of their last five.
1u – Under 8.5 Total Runs @ -104
