Our picks for today's MLB action
ANALYSIS

Tuesday is always a busy day and this week is no different. With all 30 teams taking the field in the evening slate there should be plenty of interesting baseball.

Here are Today’s MLB Picks:

Cardinals @ Pirates

This one is really tough because the over has hit so many times this season in Pittsburgh. In fact, home games with a line of 9-or-9.5 have hit the over 16 of 22 times in Pittsburgh this season. The Pirates scored a whopping five runs per game at home and have allowed 5.60. However, Chris Archer is on the mound, and in his three home starts since the beginning of June he has allowed just five earned runs total. Throw in the fact the Cardinals rank 21st in runs and 27th in slugging percentage and he has the chance to have another good outing. On the other side we have Dakota Hudson, who has not allowed more than three earned runs since April 21st. In fact, just once this season has he allowed more than three earned runs, and with the weather favoring the pitchers, this game has a chance to buck the trend and hit the under. I am going to take a risk here and take this line down to 8.5 in order to get some really nice odds.

1u – Under 8.5 Total Runs @ +120

Indians @ Blue Jays

The odds on this game should not be this close. Aaron Sanchez comes into this game with a 3-14 record and a 6.26 ERA. Trevor Bauer however, has not been convincing this season. His inconsistencies have frustrated everyone, and the last six outings are a sample of that. Twice in the last six he has allowed just one earned run, twice allowed three earned and twice allowed five earned runs. He is 4-1 across those six starts, and lucky to not be 4-2 having allowed five in four innings against Detroit. Saying all of that he comes into this game with a 2.43 ERA on the road this season, and facing an opponent who is really struggling, the Indians should win this one comfortably.

1u – CLE Indians -1.5 @ -105

Cubs @ Giants

The first game of this series just creeped over with two questionable pitchers on the mound. The second game is a matchup with Yu Darvish and Madison Bumgarner. Bumgarner had a slow start to the season but has really turned it on in the last month or so. In his last five starts he has allowed a total of five runs, with 34 strikeouts in 29 innings. In fact, in his last six home outs he has allowed nine earned runs in 37 innings with 39 strikeouts. As for Darvish, well it has been a little bit of a roller coaster. However, his last two starts have seen him strike out 15 in 12 innings, allowing zero earned runs, just four hits and a single walk across the two starts. 7.5 is extremely low for a total this season, but 18 out 36 games with that totals in that region this season have either hit dead on or gone under.

1u – Under 7.5 Total Runs @ -117
