Our picks for today's MLB action
ANALYSIS

We have a loaded Tuesday, as another double-header means that we have 16 games for our enjoyment on Tuesday. The evening should be especially interesting as all 30 teams take to the field, with some intriguing matchups taking place.

Here are Today’s MLB Picks:

Royals @ Red Sox

This could be a very high scoring game in Fenway Park. Jakob Junis and Andrew Cashner have been far less than convincing recently and following a 12-run game Monday we could see another big one on Tuesday. In his last two start Junis has allowed 10 earned runs in 13 innings with 16 walks and four walks. He has been a frustrating pitcher to go against this season from a gambling perspective. In the three games prior to the last two he allowed just three earned runs in 20 innings. As for Cashner, well he has not been good as a Red Sox pitcher. In his four starts with the Red Sox he has allowed 18 earned runs in 23 1/3 innings. In that time, he has walked 10, allowed 31 hits and struck out just 15. With the weather favoring hitting there could be a lot of runs scored in this game.

1u – Over 10.5 Total Runs @ -110

Braves @ Twins

During the 2018 season this would have been a pitching matchup that we would have been salivating over. However, things are very different in 2019, with Mike Foltynewicz struggling to get back to his 2018 form after a tough offseason recovering by injury. In 2019 he has a 6.37 ERA, including allowing eight earned on eight hits and two walks last time out. In contrast, Jose Berrios has a 2.80 ERA, and has allowed just two earned runs in his last three starts and 19 2/3 innings. Unless the Atlanta Braves offense steps up in a big way this game should not be close.

1u – MIN Twins -1.5 @ +113

Cardinals @ Dodgers

Anytime Clayton Kershaw is on the mound the under looks like a juicy bet. That is especially the case today, with Dodgers home games with a line of eight or over seeing the under hit in 20-of-34 this season, with four of those other games being pushes. Miles Mikolas is the x-factor in this game, with a 4.00 season ERA. But having allowed just six earned in his last four starts he is on good form. In his last five road games he has struggled, allowing 18 earned runs in 27 innings. However, he has not allowed more than five earned runs in any single start, so he can still struggle in this one and have the under hit. With neutral weather in Los Angeles tonight, I am going to back the stats and take the under in this one.

1u – Under 8.5 Total Runs @ -116
