Daily Picks 09/24: Blue Jays & Orioles To Soar
After a quiet Monday we are back to action packed baseball on Tuesday, with a small afternoon slate before a big evening slate. One potential play today that will not be listed below is to back the Mariners in Houston. +380 is a huge price and in baseball where anything can happen it might be worth a very small wager just in case.
Here are Today’s MLB Picks:
Milwaukee Brewers @ Cincinnati Reds
- In the second half of the season, Sonny Gray has a 1.91 ERA and Adrian Houser has a 3.71 ERA
Well Sonny Gray has proven a lot of people wrong this year including me. He came into the year as the butt of many jokes but has revitalised his career in Cincinnati. His worst month of the season was June and even then, his ERA was just 4.78. As for Houser, he has been a little more inconsistent, but still an extremely solid option. The under has also been the dominant result in Cincinnati this season, going 45-29-5, so with two good pitchers on the mound it should have a chance of going that way again.
1u – Under 8 Total Runs @ -105
Baltimore Orioles @ Toronto Blue Jays
- Dylan Bundy has a 5.23 ERA in the second half and Anthony Kay allowed five earned runs in his only outing at home this season.
This series is one where I am just going to keep going over for the large part. These two teams have solid offenses but bad pitching options. Another 21 runs were scored last night meaning there have been 65 runs in the last four games between them. In those four games not a single matchup has had less than 10 runs scored combined in them.
1u – Over 9.5 Total Runs @ -108
Colorado Rockies @ San Francisco Giants
- Madison Bumgarner has a 2.80 ERA and Jeff Hoffman has a 6.75 ERA on the road.
This should simply come down to a pitching mismatch between one of the best to do it and someone struggling this year. Bumgarner’s struggles this year have largely come on the road and Hoffman has struggled generally. Hoffman is also averaging 1.2 home runs per road start and the wind is expected to favor hitters in this one. Backing the Giants offense is always scary, but they should be able to pull clear of the Rockies in this one.
1u – San Francisco Giants -1.5 @ +120
