Our picks for today's MLB action
ANALYSIS

With the playoffs virtually settled for the most part it could be a quiet weekend in the majors. However, there are still opportunities for us to make some money, and perhaps an emotional farewell in the Pacific North West?

Here are Today’s MLB Picks:

Colorado Rockies @ San Francisco Giants

  • Tyler Beede has a 5.23 ERA this season and Kyle Freeland a 6.84 ERA

This line has definitely got the San Francisco treatment and been kept low, but that looks to be an interesting call. These two pitchers have struggled a lot this season and they are pitching in weather conditions which are supposed to be favoring hitters. In similar conditions on Tuesday the score was 5-5 after nine innings, and that was with Madison Bumgarner as one of the pitchers. Look to the over in this one.

1u – Over 8.5 Total Runs @ -116

Cleveland Indians @ Chicago White Sox

  • Dylan Cease has allowed just seven earned runs in his last four starts and 21 innings.

It may seem crazy to look at the under when a pitcher with a 5.79 ERA is on the mound. However, Cease has been much improved his last four starts and should get the backing of the weather in this one. After a couple of days of hitter friendly conditions, the forecast has somewhat switched for today. That should also boost Aaron Civale who has an impressive 1.82 ERA on the season so far.

1u –Under 9 Total Runs @ -110

Oakland Athletics @ Seattle Mariners

  • Sean Manaea has a 1.14 ERA since returning from injury at the start of September

This is another one where it is a case of one pitcher making the under a questionable call. Manaea is not a question mark as he has not given up a single earned run on the road in his first two starts at the Yankees and the Rangers. Now he is facing a team who did not score a run against the Astros and only averaged 3.66 runs per game against the lowly Orioles on the road. Felix Hernandez is the question mark but his two home starts since returning from injury have been solid allowing just three earned runs. Granted those starts were against lower calibre opposition but in his final home game of the season, and perhaps his final game in Seattle as a Mariner, expect to see the old war horse throw everything at the Athletics in this one.

1u – Under 9 Total Runs @ -110
