Daily Picks 10/11: Take The Unders In St Louis
Two new series means its time for re-calibration. We saw more offense towards the end of the last series as the teams saw pitchers for the second time inside 10 days and made the most of it. Friday sees us kick off with the first game of the NLCS between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Washington Nationals.
Here are Today’s MLB Picks:
Washington Nationals @ St. Louis Cardinals
1u – Under 2.5 runs in the first 3 innings @ -118
1u – Under 8 Total Runs @ -115
- Miles Mikolas has a 3.01 ERA at home this season
- Anibal Sanchez has a 3.48 ERA on the road, and a 1.76 ERA the first time through opposing batting orders this season
With al the potential blockbuster pitching matchups we could have seen in this one, it feels somewhat underwhelming to have Mkolas and Sanchez going head-to-head for Game 1. However, both of these pitchers were very good in their first outing of the postseason and have solid numbers in these game situations. With both teams likely to be using this game to gather information on these pitchers as much as trying to win, this could be a low-scoring game to kick of the series, especially early on, with both teams having played just a couple of days ago in emotional Game 5 situations.
Both of these bullpens have largely proved to be solid with just a couple of blips, so I think we could see this game stay in the 4-2, 4-3 type score line as opposed to a big blow out like we saw in Game 5 of the Cardinals @ Braves Game 5. Let’s go for both a sluggish start and a full game under in this one.
