Daily Picks 10/19: Weak Pitchers
The Yankees stunned the Astros last night to take the series back to Houston with the Astros still leading 3-2. Now with both rotations stretched they will have to turn to lesser pitchers, potentially opening an opportunity for a lot of runs to be scored in this one.
Here are Today’s MLB Picks:
New York Yankees @ Houston Astros
1u – Over 9 Total Runs @ +100
- JA Happ had a 4.81 ERA on the road this season
- The Astros have numerous hitters on their roster with great numbers aganst left-handed pitching, including Alex Bregman and Jose Altuve
These two lineups must be licking their lips with this pitching matchup. The Yankees have been seeing pitchers like Justin Verlander, Gerrit Cole and Zack Greinke and so will be looking to jump all over Urquidy early in this start. As for the Yankees, they are starting Chad Green as an opener, before likely handing over to JA Happ, who has already allowed one earned run in 2/3 of an innings this series. The Astros lineup rakes left handed pitching, with Alex Bregman, Jose Altuve, George Springer, Carlos Correa and Robinson Chirinos all having superb splits against lefties. This game could be a lot of fun, and see plenty of runs scored as the two weakest pitching combinations of these staffs go head-to-head in a crucial playoff game.
