Ben Rolfe picks his best bet for game one of the World Series

The World Series is finally here! Nearly seven full months after the season started the Houston Astros and Washington Nationals will face off in the final seven games of the season. This series has the making of a pitching classic with four aces and two more very good pitchers making up the top-three pitchers on either side.

Here are Today’s MLB Picks:

Washington Nationals @ Houston Astros

1u – Washington Nationals ML @ +172

  • Max Scherzer has a 2.64 ERA on the road
  • Per Statschecker, the Washington Nationals win 55% of their road games

This is all about the odds that can be got on a team that has a very good feeling and is rocking right now. They have one of the best pitchers in baseball on the mound in Max Scherzer, who has allowed one earned run in his last two playoff starts, spanning 14 innings, with 18 strikeouts, five hits and five walks. The Astros are a very good team, and Gerrit Cole is one of the best pitchers around right now but has been got at a few times in this season, and the Nationals have a varied line up which has the ability to do that damage in this one. Scherzer may only need a run or two from his offense to win this one, making the odds here far too big on the Nationals.
