MLB Odds, Picks & Predictions

We’re back on Saturday for a full slate of MLB games and there are a few on the board that I like. In some of these I’m playing strictly a pitching matchup that I find favorable. In others, it’s going to be a bit off of fell since we’re so early in the season. Let’s take a look at Saturday’s MLB picks.

Chicago White Sox vs. Los Angeles Angels Predictions

We’re playing the starting pitching matchup here as the White Sox scheduled starter, Lance Lynn, has absolutely dominated the hitters in this Angels lineup throughout his career. In 112 career Abs, this Angels team is hitting .196 with just 22 hits, 12 RBI and a .347 slugging percentage. Between Albert Pujols, Anthony Rendon and Justin Upton, Rendon has the highest career batting average against Lynn, coming in at a whopping .167.

The Sox should be up 2-0 in this series if not for a blown 3-2 lead from the bullpen in game one. Chicago has one of the best lineups in baseball and Lance Lynn dominated the Halos. Take the White Sox on the moneyline.

The Pick: White Sox ML @ -118

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Atlanta Braves Predictions

Game 1 of this series featured two star-studded offenses struggling to get much of anything going before Jean Segura sent the Phillies home as winners with a walk-off single in the bottom of the 10th. I’m expecting a lot more runs in this one.

Zack Wheeler has been awesome as a Phillie. He put up a 4-2 record and a 2.92 ERA in last season’s 60-game go around. But, a few of the high-profile names on the Atlanta roster have hit Wheeler hard in their career. Freddie Freeman is a career .486 hitter against Wheeler and he and Ronald Acuna Jr. have combined to hit 10 XBH off the Phillies’ No. 2 starter.

Originally, I had this penned as a Braves ML play, but I don’t trust Charlie Morton coming off a terrible year. Instead, we’re going with the over.

The Pick: Over 8 @ -105
