Houston Astros vs Atlanta Braves Prediction

The Atlanta Braves lead the World Series, 3-1 against the Houston Astros, needing just one more win to clinch the whole thing.

With one more game at home, fans are hoping the Braves can clinch the World Series at Truist Park. The celebration, on Halloween, in Atlanta could be wild.

The Braves, despite needing just one win, haven’t announced a starter just yet. Meanwhile, the Astros have and that’s more than enough to help give us a direction of where we want to bet today.

The Astros will pitch left-hander Framber Valdez, who allowed eight hits and five runs in two innings of work against the Braves in Game 1 of the World Series. Valdez needed 52 pitches to escape two innings in that game.

Against the Braves, Valdez allowed a home run from Jorge Soler, an RBI double from Austin Riley, an RBI groundout from Soler and a two-run blast from Adam Duvall.

At that point, the Braves went up 5-0 and the chance for the Astros to come back in Game 1 was slim. The Astros won’t let that happen again. If Valdez gets in trouble, he’ll have a much shorter leash, knowing the Astros are in a must-win situation.

The Braves projected lineup, in the last 30 days, has a .354 ISO and .470 wOBA along with just 18 percent strikeouts and 11 percent walks against lefties. This lineup rakes against lefties and has done so well in the postseason.

Meanwhile, it looks like Tucker Davidson will get the start for the Braves. He was called up to the roster after Charlie Morton went down with an injury. Davidson at least has some experience in the big leagues and has allowed a BABIP of .191 this season in the big leagues as a rookie.

The walks can get a bit high for Davidson, but he’s able to getI’m a solid amount of grounders at 53.1 percent and keeps power numbers down as well.

The Braves could use an opener and then use Davidson, but overall, the expectation is that Davidson gets the bulk of the game like Kyle Wright did last night.

The Astros have hit lefties better in the last 30 days with a wOBA of .353, however, the Astros have just two runs in the last two games against the Braves. Once the Astros went on the road, the offense started to struggle.

I’m not going to say anything, but it’s a bit strange, especially with the Astros going up against the lower tier portion of the rotation. The weather has played a factor in Atlanta as Houston is more used to a closed stadium and warmer weather in comparison to Atlanta.

At the end of the day, the Braves pitching has been better and the hitting has done enough. They’ve scored 3.5 runs per game in the World Series and that’s led them to a 3-1 record in the World Series.

The Braves will do anything they can to finish this series in Atlanta and I like them to get the job done.
