MLB Expert Jason Radowitz shares his prop picks for Game 5 f the World Series between the Atlanta Braves and Houston Astros.

World Series Game 5 Prop Picks: Houston Astros vs. Atlanta Braves

The Braves are currently 7-0 at home in the postseason after a big come-from-behind win against the Astros. The Braves slugged back-to-back homers late against the Astros to take a 3-2 lead behind Dansby Swanson and pinch-hitter Jorge Soler.

While the Braves haven’t announced a starter, there’s a good chance Tucker Davidson will get the start or at least pitch the bulk of tonight’s game. He was added to the roster when Charlie Morton had to be removed from the roster due to injury.

Meanwhile, Framber Valdez is slated to get the start for the Astros after a poor Game 1 performance where he allowed eight hits and five runs in two innings against the Braves. He induced six ground balls in that game but also gave up two home runs and six fly balls in total.

With Valdez on the mound, is it safe to take some Braves player prop overs? Here are our thoughts below for World Series Game 5 between the Astros and Braves.

Astros vs Braves World Series Game 5 Prop Bets

Jorge Soler Over 1.5 Total Bases (+160) via DraftKings

Soler has the biggest hit of the Braves season up to this point. He slugged a line drive home run to break a 2-2 tie and give the Braves a 3-2 lead. Of course, the Braves held on and got the win.

Soler has crushed lefties for his career and has a .310 ISO against them this season. Plus, he started things off for the Braves in Game 1 against Valdez with a home run. If he’s going to be leading off, there’s way too much value here on Soler at +160.

Jose Altuve Over 1.5 Total Bases (-110) via DraftKings

Altuve has a .300 ISO and .372 wOBA against lefties in the last 30 days. He’s also striking out just 8.7 percent of the time and seems to be the only clutch hitter for the Astros.

On top of that, he’s leading off and should get extra opportunities for two hits or an extra base hit. No batter has really destroyed against Tucker Davidson, but if any batter can find a way to produce against Davidson or a relief pitcher, it’s Altuve.

On the year, Altuve has 26.5 percent line drives against lefties and just 35.1 percent ground balls. He’s just been so good at limiting strikeouts and that always gives you a real opportunity to win these types of bets when a batter continues to put the ball in play.

Framber Valdez Under 4.5 Strikeouts (-170) via DraftKings

The Astros will be eliminated from the World Series with one loss. Valdez is going to be on a short leash. The moment he gets in trouble, the Astros will yank him for their relievers.

The Astros relievers have done well against the Braves and the Braves have only scored 3.5 runs per game this season in the postseason.

Anyway, in Game 1 of the World Series, Valdez allowed eight hits and five runs with just two strikeouts in two innings and 52 pitches. Valdez to get five strikeouts is juiced, but it’s going to be hard to get five. Take the under here.
