MLB Seattle Mariners Futures Prediction
Let's start off with Seattle's performance last year. Some people believe that their 90 win season last year was a fluke and isn’t something that can be replicated, I don’t see things that way. First off, all we need is 84 which is great. Secondly, they have added some real talent at last year's trade deadline and this year's offseason. The likes of Adam Frazier, Jesse Winker, Robbie Ray, and Eugenio Suarez will play key parts in further legitimizing this team as a real threat. This team isn’t the flashiest and won’t steal any spotlights in the media if they play well but they have a well-built solid roster that all play their role well.
So not only does Seattle have significantly more talent than a year ago but they also should have an easier schedule. The Athletics will take a major step back from last year's 86 win season. They have traded Matt Olsen and Matt Chapman and are looking to move more of their pieces with Manaea and Montas. I find this significant because they are divisional rivals and that in theory should help inflate the win total for Seattle. The same could be said about the Rangers. Although they opened free agency as the most willing to spend team they still face plenty of holes and Vegas agrees with projecting them to only win 74 games. Seattle should have their way for the most part with these two clubs which will account for 28 of their 162 games. Astros are still projected as the top dog but they are looking less and less scary as they continue to lose big names from their championship-winning team as Correa signs with Minnesota.

The team is better, the division is worse and we are getting them at six fewer wins than last year, this is a no-brainer. We know their current MLB roster is a solid unit but this bet has the upside of some of their prospects working their way up through the farm quickly. It’s no secret that Seattle has a phenomenal farm and the likes of Julio Rodriguez might not take long to come to help out the club. Now that Kelenic has gotten through his rookie growing pains I also expect a much improved year out of him. This is a young team that has incredible upside and could certainly be buyers at the trade deadline if they’re in contention to steal the division. Finally getting an ace in Robbie Ray will do wonders for this team and he looks as good as ever in spring training. 84 wins feels disrespectful here so we’ll start off our betting with a 2u play on this one.
