The number oe reason I absolutely love this bet is Adam Wainwright. I am trusting a 40 year old man to pitch like an ace I know but he hasn’t given us any reason to think he’d fall off of the cliff. Wainwright faced Pittsburgh four times last year and looked absolutely explosive out there. In just four games he pitched 30 innings for a 4-0 record while only allowing one total run. The man absolutely owned Pittsburgh and the Pirates have a similar looking lineup to start off the year. The last time that Adam Wainwright pitched in Pittsburgh he threw a complete game 2 hitter, tonights game will also be taking place in Pennsylvania.
First 5 innings bets to me have always felt like a safer alternative to a complete game spread. There are way less variables just focusing on starter vs starter as opposed to having to take into account bullpens and the batters history vs the bullpen arms.
