Cincinnati Reds and Atlanta Braves Best Bet: Will the Reds Bats Stay Hot?
Max Fried did not fare too well against this Reds lineup as they tagged him early and the Braves just couldn't recover. Mahle had been really good on the road last year and continued his road success but I think the Braves lineup will have much more success today against the Reds' young left-handed pitcher.
Reiver Sanmartin gets the start for Cincy today and I think the Braves are going to tee off on him. This Braves lineup is very deep and even though they lost Freddie Freeman, they re-tooled by adding Matt Olson and getting Marcel Ozuna back who was an MVP candidate before his absence due to domestic violence. Sanmartin is extremely young and untested as he has only thrown 11.2 innings in the bigs but he already has some glaring splits in his young career. Right-handed hitters are 9-26 agaisnt him and while this is a very small sample size, it tells me that righties see the ball much better agaisnt him. Olson is the main left-handed hitter in the Braves lineup but Olson had no trouble hitting lefties last season as he actually led the majors with 22 home runs against left-handed pitching.

I expect this Braves lineup to put up runs early and often and also expect a great effort from Charlie Morton on the mound as he was very solid at home last season. With that being said, I am rolling with Braves F5 -0.5 at -127 for one of my most confident MLB picks of the night.
