San Diego Padres vs Arizona Diamondbacks: Will San Diego Rebound After Last Night's Disaster?
The San Diego Padres got six no-hit innings from Yu Darvish and somehow lost last night on a three-run, walk-off home run from Seth Beer.
Could it be the same old Padres? You know, the ones that finished last season with a losing record with one of the higher payrolls in baseball
Here are our picks, predictions, and odds for the game between the Padres and the Diamondbacks on April 8.

Padres vs. Diamondbacks Opening Day Prediction
The San Diego Padres need to rebound from last night's loss. The Arizona Diamondbacks are still going to be one of the worst teams in the MLB and the Padres will have to feast on Arizona like the San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers will later this season.
The Padres will send out Sean Manaea for his first start as a San Diego Padres pitcher. Manaea finished last season with the Oakland Athletics and had a 3.88 xFIP with a 25.2% strikeout rate. He also walked just 5.4% of batters and had a pretty solid season in Oakland.
Manaea struggled a little bit against righties as a left-handed pitcher, but wasn't too bad, allowing a .322 wOBA and ISO of .163. Those are average numbers. However, he did allow 44.9% hard contact last season.
There are only too bats to worry about if you're Manaea and that's Katel Marte and Christian Kelly. Those two had a lot of success last season against lefties when it came to power numbers, with ISOs of .368 and .267 respectively.
On the other hand, Merrill Kelly will start for the Diamondbacks. He gave up an xFIP of 4.60 last season with just 19% strikeouts. Kelly won't overpower any batter and allowed 43.8% hard contact last season.
Righties hit a wOBA of .355 with an ISO of .194. However, lefties struggled against the right-handed, as Kelly held those batters to a .265 wOBA and ISO of .114.
Still, the Padres have some really good righties in that lineup that could absolutely smack Kelly. Manny Machado had a .225 ISO against righties last season while Luke Voit has plenty of potential as well with a .236 ISO against righties.
Therefore, I like the Padres' lineup and believe they'll be able to score three runs in the first five innings against Kelly.
