Toronto Blue Jays vs Texas Rangers Prediction: Back the Blue Jays at Home

The Toronto Blue Jays will have an Opening Day in their ballpark for the first time in a few years when they battle the Texas Rangers on Friday night. These teams both have a lot of hype around them coming into this season for a few different reasons.

Toronto Blue Jays vs Texas Rangers Prediction

The Texas Rangers, who were one of the worst teams in the MLB a season ago, were very active during free agency. The Rangers made headlines when they signed stars Corey Seager and Marcus Semien. These are two MVP caliber players that the Rangers added to this roster. They also added Jon Gray, who is going to get the opening day start for Texas.

The Blue Jays have a lot of hype around them due to their talented young roster. This team missed out on the postseason last year but comes into this season as the favorites in a very good AL East. The star of this team comes in the form of Vladimir Guerrero Jr, who is one of the most talented players in the MLB. Bo Bichette is also a human highlight reel and will be fun to watch all season long. The Blue Jays have swag and talent throughout their entire roster. The pitching was an issue a season ago, but the Jays feel confident in their rotation this season. The leader of that rotation comes in the form of all-star right-hander Jose Berrios. Berrios will have to have a strong season taking over as the ace for the Blue Jays this year after they saw Robbie Ray sign with the Seattle Mariners in the offseason.

I am going to back the Blue Jays tonight on this -1 line. I love this spot for them at home in a matchup I believe is very favorable. Gray struggled last year, and some people blamed that on his time in Colorado. If you look at his numbers, he still struggled away from home, and I believe he is going to struggle all night against this loaded Toronto lineup. They are too talented top to bottom and should put up too much offense for the Rangers to keep up with. Berrios should be ready to go and hold down this Texas lineup tonight. The last thing is I have been hot backing Canada teams all week in honor of Canada's first betting week so let’s keep that momentum tonight!
