When it comes to every book they call this bet something different which can get confusing. On Fanduel this one is under “1st Half” and then “1st Half Run Line”. Now that we’ve cleared that up let's get into why I like this play. This play is nearly the exact same play that we made with Boston last night against this same Yankees team. I personally find Toronto to be a better ball club so I like our chances, even more, tonight and think we undoubtedly have the pitching advantage.

Alek Manoah is still just 24 years old but has looked outstanding to finish last season. He had 26 ER over the course of his last 12 games while pitching over 70 innings. Against the Yankees, he has wins in both starts last season and has only allowed 7 hits in 30 at-bats vs the projected Yankees bats. Blue Jays have tied in two of their three first 5 innings which would be cash for us here. Taillon is pitching for New York and has allowed 17 combined hits/walks in 46 at-bats which is good for a .369 OBP. Taillon was 0-2 against Toronto last season with a 6.23 ERA over three appearances. We definitely have the pitching advantage.

If we have the pitching advantage then it comes down to the bats. I think both teams are comparable, both lineups have many bats that strike fear into people but neither sticks out more than the other. The fact that this Blue Jays team is as good as they are and have already proven they can score 7 runs in one innings should be enough to take this bet knowing we can win it with a tie. Bichette, Chapman, Vlad, and Springer should all feast and Manoah should have a good chance at keeping New York as quiet as possible. I really like this and if it was -130 or less juice it would have been my first play above 1 unit.
