This bet type has taken over my life over the past day. I have never had a bet type in any sport that has gotten me this obsessed with learning more. People love the appeal of NRFI’s because it’s six easy outs and it’s nice and quick. Our bets are the same six outs but more times than not against easier batters. Not to mention the starter has an inning to settle in and find his groove. With NRFI or YRFI bets you are hoping for no early game rust or jitters. I like these bets and also like them from a situational live bet perspective but this is one I’m happily taking early.
Shane Bieber and Tyler Mahle find the mound. Now that is what we love to see. Bieber is such an outstanding pitcher and has looked phenomenal once again in his opener. Bieber will likely face off against the 5-8 at least assuming he allows one walk or hit in the 1st. That would comprise of Stephenson, Senzel, Moran, and Drury. Those four are a combined 2-13 vs Bieber's lifetime. Bieber is also on the road where he played noticeably better last season. Mahle is no slouch either who only allowed 3 hits in his opener. Mahle doesn’t have much experience against the Cleveland batters but that should play in his favor. He has only allowed 5 hits in 20 at-bats vs their batters' lifetime.
This is a bet style that is unorthodox but I truly see value in it. So far if you account for every MLB game thus far the record of NRSI’s are 37-22. These are two outstanding pitchers who I think people will be all over tomorrow. We just need success in one inning and it will be the inning that fewer people will have exposure to so hopefully less nonsense. I couldn’t be prouder to back this market and hope it remains an available option on the season at a reasonable price. There is nothing guaranteed here by any means but this was the top pick that stood out to me today.
