The Giants played a double-header with the Mets yesterday and got off to a solid start as they tagged starter Tylor Megill for four early runs, but they could not hold onto the lead as the Mets came storming back in the fifth to tie the game at four. After that, the game was a stalemate until extra innings where Lindor broke the tie with a game-winning single in the 10th.
In the nightcap, Scherzer absolutely dominated this Giants lineup as he struck out 10 and only allowed one hit and one run in seven total innings. The Mets have been very impressive to this point as their starting pitchers have been giving them great depth and keeping them in games and the bullpen has been serviceable so far.

The big surprise on the season is the Mets' offensive production. Last season, they were one of the worst teams at scoring runs and were awful with runners in scoring position but that has not been the case this season. The Mets have been very clutch this season but will it continue tonight after sweeping a doubleheader from the Giants yesterday? I do not think so.
The Giants were the surprise of the season last year as they won the NL West beating out the Dodgers as they won a total of 106 games. They are off to another hot start this season as they are now 7-4 but desperate for a win after dropping 2 games to the Mets yesterday. Tonight, the Giants will start recent free-agent acquisition Carlos Rodon who I think will have a lot of success tonight. Rodon is a power pitcher with a plus slider and gets a lot of swings and misses. While the Mets have been solid offensively to this point, I would still consider them a middle of the pack to a below-average offensive team and I think Rodon will be able to pick on this Mets lineup tonight.
The Mets are starting Chris Bassitt who was their marquee free-agent acquisition, and he has not disappointed through 2 starts as he is 2-0 with a 0.75 ERA but those 2 starts have come against the Dbacks and Nationals. Bassitt is very good, but those 2 starts were against very weak teams, and this will be his toughest test of the season by far against a Giants lineup with a lot of power.
I talk about the line dynamic of games all the time and it applies to this game as well. The Mets have won the first 2 games of the series, are at home, and are now starting a pitcher who is 2-0 with a 0.75 ERA and yet are underdogs. That line is very telling to me that the value tonight is on the Giants. With that being said, I am rolling with Giants F5 ML at -120 and Full Game ML at -116 both for 1U as I think the Giants get their first win of the series tonight in New York.
