We have some Friday night baseball, and I found a gem for us tonight on the diamond. We have a battle between the Baltimore Orioles and the Los Angeles Angels. The Orioles have had a tough start to their season, while the Angels have had a solid start to their campaign. The Angels came into this season with fairly high expectations after making some moves in the offseason to add pitching to their team.

Los Angeles Angels vs. Baltimore Orioles Prediction

The Angels have one of the better lineups in baseball, especially at the front end with Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani. Ohtani is the defending MVP of the American League, proving that he is one of the most electric baseball players of all time. Ohtani has turned nonbaseball fans into fans with his ability to pretty much do anything on a baseball field. Mike Trout is considered by some the best pure baseball player to ever walk this earth. Trouts issue has been staying on the field the last couple of seasons, dealing with multiple injuries.

This season, the Angels are expected to be a playoff team, assuming that they can stay healthy and pitch well. The Orioles, on the other side of things, came into this season with little to no expectations. They have struggled now for quite some time and will look to turn things around sooner than later. They do have one great player in the form of Cedric Mullins, who is coming off an all-star season. 

I am going to back the Angels tonight on the -1 spread.

I believe the Angels put up a huge night on offense tonight and can limit this underwhelming Orioles lineup. I have backed the Orioles as dogs a couple of times this season, but this is a bad spot for them tonight. They face Bruce Zimmerman, who has thrown nine scoreless innings this season. He is due for regression tonight, and I believe the line is suggesting that. Zimmerman will struggle against this high-powered Angels lineup for the majority of the night. The Orioles have been a mess on the offensive end this season. They have scored just seven runs over the last four games. That will not be enough to keep up with the Angels tonight. Let’s keep things rolling on the Diamond!
