Oakland Athletics vs. Texas Rangers Prediction: Can Texas Start a Winning Streak?
The Texas Rangers were down 5-0 after one inning against the Mariners last night. But somehow, the Rangers clawed all the way back to beat the Mariners, 8-6. Maybe that will start to add some mojo to a Texas offense that is clearly better than what they've shown so far.
On the other hand, the Oakland Athletics defeated the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday and are now 8-6 on the year. Nobody thought we'd be saying that. Of course, it's early in the season and the Athletics have a team filled with misfits. But overall, Oakland is hanging around for now.

Oakland Athletics vs. Texas Rangers Prediction
The Texas Rangers are starting to show some fight. After an 8-6 victory over the Mariners, the Rangers might be onto something.
With massive acquisitions earlier in the off-season including Corey Seager and Marcus Semien, expectations were a lot higher coming into this season. So far, the offense has underperformed and the team straight up hasn't been anything close to what Texas fans expected. But maybe that's about to change.
The Athletics will pitch Adam Oller who has allowed eight runs in 4.2 innings off 10 hits. He's struck out six but also walked six and has given up two home runs.
In those two games, Oller has a 5.99 xFIP and has struggled with both sides of the plate. Now he's going to take on a Rangers lineup that has a .195 ISO and wOBA of .330 dating back to last season.
The Rangers are balanced with six lefties and three righties to go up against the right-hander. Texas has also hit under 40% of ground balls against righties with the projected lineup and has nine players in the lineup that have consistently hit the ball hard against righties.
On the other hand, Glen Otto will make his season debut for the Rangers tonight. Otto has a near 10 ERA in the MLB but it's not what you think. He's got a 3.63 xFIP with 25.2% strikeouts and 7.2% walks. He's just been a bit unlucky with batting average of balls in play and should eventually become a solid pitcher in the league.
The Athletics, dating back to last season, has an ISO of .138 and wOBA of .287 with the projected lineup. I know the Athletics have been better than advertised recently but so has Otto if you look at last year's stats.
I'll roll with the Texas Rangers on the moneyline at -140.
