Seattle Mariners vs. Kansas City Royals Prediction: How Will the Mariners Bounce Back?
I usually don't like to highlight previous series results or handicap off of the results from the previous series, but the Mariners are coming off a very interesting game last night against the Rangers which I feel needs to be highlighted first. The Mariners went up 5-0 in the 1st inning with still no outs and then would eventually blow the lead and the game to the bottom feeders in Arlington. This may make people a bit hesitant to back the Mariners tonight, but I think they are in a solid spot to bounce back here.

Mariners vs. Royals Line Movement
Seattle Mariners vs. Kansas City Royals Prediction
The Royals come to town and the Royals are currently having the same problems as they usually have, they simply cannot hit or produce runs. Last year, Salvador Perez basically carried them offensively but now he is struggling so they are really having a hard time getting offensive production from the other members of their team. They come into this game after a 1-0 loss to the Twins. The Twins are nowhere near a dominant pitching staff so that should tell you a lot about what the Royals are going through offensively right now.
Another reason I like the Mariners tonight is that I expect a much more focused effort after an extremely pathetic and lackadaisical performance agaisnt the Rangers last night. The M's made some extremely costly errors on routine plays that allowed the Rangers to climb back in the game and ultimately win so I expect them to clean up the defense and have more quality at bats tonight as well.
Another thing you always hear me harp on in this articles is the line dynamic. We are seeing another favorable line dynamic here with the Mariners as favorites even though Flexen has a signicificantly higher ERA than his counterpart for this game in Brad Keller. Keller had a really bad season last year and has gotten off to a solid start with a 1.38 ERA through starts. Keller was expected to have some positive regression this year which happened to this point but I think he is going to struggle in this start tonight. We saw the Tigers have better at bats against him later in the game in his last start and I expect the Mariners to have much better and more focused at bats compared to last night.
Flexen is on the mound for the Mariners and he was a home warrior last season. He hasn't gotten off to the best start this season, but he faced 2 very solid lineups agaisnt the Astros and Twins and this will be his best matchup of the season by far agaisnt the Royals mentioned earlier are really struggling on the offensive end.
With that being said, I am rolling with Mariners F5 ML at -125 for 1U as my most confident MLB play of the night as I think the Mariners get off to a solid start and close strong unlike their perfornance last night.
