Jason Radowitz is all over the Angels against the Orioles with Noah Syndergaard on the mound for Los Angeles.
ANALYSIS

Los Angeles Angels vs. Baltimore Orioles Prediction: Back the Angels with Syndergaard on the Mound

The Los Angeles Angels will take on the Baltimore Orioles in one of the few night games on Saturday. So far, the Angels are 8-6, over .500, and there's some belief that the Angels could actually make the playoffs this year.

That's obviously the expectation for the Angels, who now have the two best players in baseball Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout. Can this duo help the Angels to their ninth win of the season?

Here are our picks, predictions, and odds for Saturday's game between the Baltimore Orioles and Los Angeles Angels.

Los Angeles Angels vs. Baltimore Orioles Prediction

If you're looking for the biggest mismatch on tonight's slate, it's this game. Noah Syndergaard will take the mound for the Angels going up against Spenser Watkins of the Baltimore Orioles.

Syndergaard is 2-0 with a 1.59 ERA to start his new career in Los Angeles. He's gone at least 5.1 innings per start and has allowed just two runs. However, Syndergaard still needs to get his strikeouts higher, with only five strikeouts in 11.1 innings.

Still, he's been dominant pitching to contact and should start to develop more arm strength as the season progresses.

Syndergaard will go up against a Baltimore lineup that has struggled against righties dating back to last year. With the projected lineup, Baltimore has a .148 ISO and wOBA of .294 against righties. That's not going to cut it against Syndergaard.

Get 40/1 odds on ANY MLB Moneyline With DraftKings! Meanwhile, Spenser Watkins has a 2.25 ERA through two starts this season with Baltimore. However, he's allowed five runs, just two were earned in those two games.

Watkins also struck out just two batters in eight innings with four walks in those eight innings. Don't look at the ERA, Watkins is not having the easiest of times on the mound.

Los Angeles, on the other hand, has a combined .200 ISO with a .346 wOBA against righties dating back to last season. Los Angeles has the two best hitters in the game batting in the top two of the batting order between Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout and both have absolutely rocked right-handed pitching dating back to last season.

The Angels are known for striking out but Watkins doesn't really have a put-away pitch. Therefore, I like the Angels -1 at -120 against the Orioles in the first five innings.
