The Philadelphia Phillies will battle against the Milluwake Brewers for a Sunday night baseball affair in the city of brotherly love. The Phillies enter play sporting a record of 6-9 on the young season, while the Brewers enter playing to the tune of a 9-6 roster. These teams are both slated to be playoff teams from a talent standpoint.
The Brewers made the postseason last year when they lost to the eventual world champion Atlanta Braves. The Brewers were led by the best rotation in baseball that will be on display again this season. The Brewers also represent one of the best bullpens in the MLB, especially in the eighth and ninth inning with Devin Williams and Josh Hader.
The Phillies made headlines in the offseason when they landed all-star outfielders, Kyle Schwarber and Nick Castellanos. This season, the duo has helped spark the Philly lineup with their power. The issue for the Phillies in years past has been their pitching. They will look to flip the script on that narrative this season, and one guy who can help do that will be tonight’s starting pitcher Aaron Nola. Nola is a former all-star and Cy Young caliber arm when right. He really struggled last season after a great year. He will be tasked with holding down this Brewers lineup tonight.
I am going to back the home team in the Phillies here tonight. I love the line we are getting with a sizeable advantage on the mound. The Brewers have a great rotation and some great rams in the bullpen, but this is an offense that can be limited, and I believe, will be limited tonight behind Nola. The Phillies are due for a breakout on the offensive side of things, and with the lights bright tonight, I love this spot. Let’s stay hot on the diamond after a huge day yesterday!
