MLB Monday's Best Bets: Milwaukee Brewers vs San Francisco Giants and Cardinals vs Mets

Milwaukee Brewers vs San Francisco Giants Prediction

I am going to keep this one short and sweet as I talked about it already on the show this morning. To be straightforward the San Francisco Giants are a damn good baseball team doing great things right now; despite their winning record and the talent I know they possess, Milwaukee has not impressed me yet this season.

The rotation is excellent and they have bats but they have not found them; they are good enough to get by against some bad teams playing bad baseball but I do not think that works against good teams. Corbin Burnes is excellent and could easily have a phenomenal game but this is the best lineup he has seen this season and the Giants are rolling right now.

Sam Long will open for the Giants and the Brewers have been very poor against southpaws this season. The Giants bullpen is rested and available whereas the Brewers used their top weapons in Willams and Hader each of the previous two nights so they should be unavailable. Look for San Francisco to outlast Milwaukee here but keep it tight at worst.

St. Louis Cardinals vs New York Mets Prediction

I think these starting pitchers both are going to have relatively effective outings and this one should be pretty tight. Mad Max Scherzer is on the mound for the Mets back in his hometown of St. Louis where he has been excellent in his career; Miles Mikolas counters for St. Louis and he seems to be back in form compared to the looks of his 2018 campaign.

I love offense but damn who doesn’t love a good duel? We have the potential for tonight but I am feeling the latter. On 123 AB’s Mad Max has held the birds to just a slash line of .188/.230/.268; he has allowed 25 hits but just seven for extra bases and has carved up 49 batters.

Miles has been stellar to start the season sporting a 1.76 ERA through 15 1/3; he is sporting a 1.04 whip and has struck out 13. He has found a lot of success in his career against the Mets while wearing the birds on the bat; he has given up just eight hits on 63 at-bats and has held them to a very low slash line of .127/.191/.147.

This will be a good series, I do expect a sweep from either squad, we should be in for some excellent baseball. St. Louis looks amazing and I still believe they are being undervalued by the books; every home game will be electric this year. St. Louis has the best fans in baseball and that city loves Albert, Waino, and Yadi. People are going to games to see those guys and trust me, those guys want to win for this city.

I like the value we are getting on the run line and money line here so I am going to take both; I do not see the Cardinals losing anything other than a close game tonight.
